Identifying the Problem
Through comprehensive market research across both primary and secondary ticketing markets, Thomas identified a clear opportunity for innovation. His previous experience in pop-up markets and ticketing solutions provided valuable insights into evaluating existing systems and their integrations with platforms like Ticketmaster, Viagogo, StubHub, TicketNetwork, and TicketEvolution. Upon a detailed review of these systems, Thomas discovered a major flaw: most providers offered cookie-cutter websites with limited flexibility and sky-high fees. Consequently, many businesses were left with no viable options and had to settle for subpar solutions, which hindered their growth and success.
The Catalyst for Change
As Thomas continued his research, he came across ATBS/ticketCMS, which was the leading provider of pre-made ticket websites. At first, he was intrigued by their offerings. However, during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, it quickly became evident that their system was highly restrictive, proprietary, and required exclusive hosting. Additionally, customizations were prohibitively expensive, with quotes for custom designs often exceeding $20,000 USD. This lack of flexibility and the staggering costs ultimately pushed Thomas to create ticketWP.
Thus, ticketWP was born out of the need to empower businesses with complete control, flexibility, and an affordable price point. It offers the customization and scalability that businesses deserve, without the burden of excessive costs.
